- Yes. Every new stake starts with a free 30-day trial, and no credit card is required to begin.
- What happens when the trial ends?
- If you haven't subscribed, the account becomes read-only: every screen stays visible and your data stays intact, you just can't move work forward until you pick a plan. Nothing is ever deleted for non-payment.
- Why isn't it priced per seat?
- Because volunteer leadership turns over constantly. Billing on a headcount means billing on a number that changes every few weeks, so Stakesauce charges a flat price per unit instead.
- Can I cancel?
- Any time, from the billing page — Stripe's customer portal handles it directly. Your data stays yours to export, and remains readable even after you stop paying.
- How do payments work?
- Billing runs through Stripe's hosted checkout and customer portal. Stakesauce never sees or stores your card number.
