About Stakesauce
Stakesauce is a web application that tracks callings, releases and ordinations for lay leaders in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints — stake presidencies, bishoprics, high councilors, executive secretaries and clerks. It follows each item from the first recommendation through interviews, approvals, sustaining and recording, and emails the specific leader whose turn it is to act.
It was built by a stake leader who kept watching good people fall through the cracks of spreadsheets and group texts: someone sustained in March and set apart “eventually,” a release nobody remembered to announce, an ordination waiting on an interview nobody knew to schedule. The busywork was the problem — never the people — so the tool exists to carry the busywork.
Independent, on purpose
Stakesauce is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official product of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and it does not connect to LCR or any Church system. Leaders type in (or import) what they choose to track, and official records are still kept where they have always been kept.
How we treat the data
- Each stake's data is isolated from every other stake's, enforced in the database itself.
- Every write is checked against the signed-in leader's position — access follows the calling.
- Items marked confidential never generate email and stay off shared views.
- Your data is yours: import it, export it, delete it. No ads, and nothing is sold or shared.
About the name
Yes, it's a pun. A stake deserves some sauce. We're playful about the name and the busywork — never about the sacred things the busywork serves.
